Managing Prescriptions
Avaros' prescription module allows you to manage a patient's prescription medications, preferred pharmacy, and review any potential drug interactions when prescribing.
A general overview of prescribing in Avaros is presented in the video below.
Long-term Medications and Re-Prescriptions
Long-term Medications are those that a patient is expected to be taking for more than 3 months. Medications that are flagged as Long-Term remain in a patients medication list even after the most recent prescription duration has ended.
Long-term medications can be quickly brought up for re-prescription by clicking the "+" in the Medications tile. Alternatively, medications can be individually re-prescribed using the "ReRX" box and link beside the medication name in the patients prescription history.
For more details, please refer to the video below.
Limited Use Codes (LUCs)
Avaros' medication search allows you to quickly see which medications have an available LUC. Just look for the grey "LUC" icon beside your search results when prescribing.
Drugs with available LUCs will have the code explanations listed below the drug prescription window.
Click on the associated LUC and the code will be added to the Instruction line of your prescription.
